Russell Brand denied entry to Canada

Russell Brand's previous bad boy antics continue to cause problems.

Earlier this year, he was deported from Japan after his criminal record was discovered, and now he's been denied entry to Canada too.
The long-haired comic, who has been arrested 12 times and was briefly held after allegedly attacking a pap last year, was due to perform north of the border on Saturday night but got into trouble at customs.

Taking to Twitter, Russ wrote: "HELP! I'm gonna be late for Casino Rama show unless someone can force Canadian customs officials to let us land in Orillia."

He later added: "Let me in! I must perform at Casino Rama, Orillia tonight at 9 for 5000 Canadians!"

Unfortunately for Brand, his plans were scuppered and he was denied entry, though he failed to mention why.

Announcing that his stand-up show had been postponed, Rusty Rockets tweeted: "I'm sorry. I can't enter Canada. We must abolish the borders between our nations AND our minds."

No Japan, no Canada... Russell's world is getting smaller by the day.

Mind you, if we lived in his house, we probably wouldn't be too bothered about leaving home anyway.

What do you think of Russell - funny or over-rated? Comments below please...

Reg: 'Amy and I talked about getting married'

Two months after the tragic death of Amy Winehouse, Reg Traviss has confirmed that he had discussed marriage with the singer.

In an emotional interview with the Sunday Times, the British film director said: "Yes, absolutely, we had talked about getting married.

"It wasn't planned as in this date or that date, but it was a topic of conversation and had been for some time."

Reg, who started dating Amy in June last year, confessed that he is still struggling to come to terms with her sudden death.

"What felt surreal was not the cameras and the craziness but losing somebody, just like that. One minute I was speaking to her, the next she was gone.
"You might say we were halfway through a conversation in our life together and then, suddenly, she disappeared."

Though Amy clearly had her problems, Reg remembers her as the "life and soul of everything".

"She had great comic timing," he explained. "And when someone's as witty as she was, I think that indicates they are quite clever."

Traviss added: "I think she understood me from the first time I met her and I understood her."

Perhaps if Amy had met Reg before Blake Fielder-Civil, things might have been different.

What do you think - was Reg a good influence on Amy? Leave a comment below...

Nancy's hair-raising Strictly demands denied

Nancy Dell'Olio is fast living up to her reputation as Strictly's biggest diva.

Before the competition had even started, the Italian lawyer was demanding higher heels - now her concern is inferior hairdressing.

According to the Mail on Sunday, Nancy threatened to quit the show if she couldn't be coiffed by her usual Harrods hair stylist.
It seems Strictly's own stylist wasn't up to Nancy's high standards and she almost ditched the dancefloor as a result.

But on this occasion Auntie Beeb put her foot down.

An insider told the Mail: "Initially the priority was to calm Nancy down when she said she would quit.

"Production told her, 'It is the first live show, can you put up with it this week and we will look into how we can resolve this next week?'.

"But it was later made clear that the hairdresser on the show would be the one Nancy would have to use and that the matter wasn't up for discussion."

Dell'Olio is probably wishing she hadn't turned up, however, because her waltz received the lowest score of the weekend (12 points) and it was Jason Donovan that wowed the crowds.

Perhaps it's time Nancy rethought her over-inflated ego... after all, in the UK she's basically known as Sven-Goran Eriksson's ex.

What did you think of Strictly this weekend and who's your favourite to win? Leave your comments below...

The Oscar-winning actress met Ned Rocknroll, nephew of Richard Branson, on paradise isle Necker Island and the pair are rumoured to be very close already.
According to The Sun, Kate spent the weekend with Ned (or Abel Smith, as he used to known) at his aunt's house in West Sussex, while Mr Rocknroll is rumoured to have turned down a US job in order to stay close to Winslet.

A source blabbed: "They have really fallen for each other. They are even mentioning marriage."

Gary admits X Factor's 'too tough' for youngsters (VOTE)

It's not just the viewing public that have concerns about the X Factor's age limit.

Following Luke Lucas' breakdown at the judges' houses phase, mentor Gary Barlow has admitted the pressure is too much for youngsters.

Luke, 16, failed to make it to the live finals after crumbling in LA - on Saturday night's show, the young lad's performance left both Gary and Robbie Williams visibly uncomfortable.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Barlow said: "Sixteen is just too young to be in a competition with this kind of pressure, but some 16-year-olds are more mature than others. Luke is just too young.

"I have a responsibility here as well. It was too much for him - no wonder he cracked under the pressure."

Robbie echoed Gary's sentiments, saying: "I do think 16 is a bit young but when you get an opportunity you just grab it.

"If it was my son or my daughter I don't think I would be pushing them that early."

Should the X Factor age limit be upped to 18?

A number of children's charities, including Kidscape, have expressed concern over the show's treatment of youngsters.

Siobhan Freegard, founder of parenting website Netmums, slammed the show's decision to send Luke to LA without his parents.

"People like Luke are being treated by the show as adults, but they're not adults. The show should ensure mums and dads are there to support them."

An X Factor spokesman insisted that young contestants are "accompanied at all times" by a responsible adult during the latter stages of the show, and told The Sun: "If any of our younger contestants is deemed too immature to deal with the pressures of the competition they are advised to re-apply in future years."

The show has already come under fire this year for its treatment of vulnerable Ceri Rees, who was encouraged to audition for the fourth time.

What do you think of the final 16 - have the judges got it right? Leave a comment below...

Now One Direction's Zayn is taken too!

Bad news for many One Direction fans this morning, as it has emerged that a THIRD member of the boyband is now off the market.

Zayn Malik is reported to be getting jiggy with Hollyoaks babe Stephanie Davis - and let's face it, dating a Hollyoaks babe is probably the summit of most 18-year-old lads' ambitions.
He joins bandmates Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne in the loved-up club, leaving just Harry Styles and Niall Horan still available - so you'd better get in quick!

Zayn is reported to have wooed Steph for a month before she agreed to date him and they're now claimed to have been seeing each other for a few weeks.

The Sun quoted a source as saying: "She's in the fame game too so she understands what it's like to have people interested in her private life. They're very sweet together."

Zayn has also dated former X Factor rivals Rebecca Ferguson and Geneva Lane (of Belle Amie) this year, so he's been a busy boy.

Still, we don't imagine Harry and Niall will be complaining too much about their mates being off the market if it means there's less competition for all the remaining laydeez out there.

Remember Harry's whispered comment to Matt Cardle when he won The X Factor last year? Google it if not.

What do you reckon? Do they make a good couple? Comment below if you please...

X Factor's Frankie receives street hate jibes

ITV

As The X Factor's resident cheeky chappy, Frankie Cocozza has split public opinion with his cock-sure attitude and tattooed derriere.

But the singer, who made it through to the final 16 on last night's show, has been left upset after receiving a heckling from fellow clubbers on a night out in Brighton.

Frankie was out celebrating his X Factor success with friends on Saturday night when a crowd of people begun screaming "everybody hates you" to the lad.
"Frankie tried to ignore it but he looked stunned. It really shook his confidence," an on-looker told The Sun.

"He is one of the favourites on the show and hasn't had to put up with this kind of abuse before - like some of the others have, such as Kitty Brucknell."

However, Frankie will not be out on the town much longer if X Factor bosses have anything to do with it.

Despite impressing Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams with his rockstar behaviour, producers are not as equally impressed, issuing him with a warning over claims of drug use and wild partying.

Frankie is reported to have written a letter to friends at a Malia bar where he worked last year, which referenced using cannabis.

"Gonna miss you boys loads, but just think of the high grade I'm gonna be toking on," it allegedly said.

A friend of the singer also told The Mirror, "Frankie is a party animal and very open about smoking drugs and jumping into bed with girls. The things he gets up to aren't a great example to children watching the show. He has been warned."

An X Factor spokesperson admitted the claims, but said that Frankie was aware his behaviour had to change whilst competing on the show.

"The letter was written a few months ago. He knows what a great position he's in and won't do anything to ruin his chances."

And there won't be any escape for Frankie with all those cameras in this year's house...

What do you think of Frankie? Did he deserve to go through or should his tattooed bum have been kicked out of the competition. Let us know below.

Katie Price has been out enjoying her new-found singledom following her split from Argentinean boy-toy Leandro Penna.

The 33-year-old was out on the town to celebrate her best friend (and hairdresser) Gary Cockerill's birthday - but she still found time to issue a statement on the end of her relationship with 25-year-old Leo.
Her spokesperson said: "Leo has been fantastic but Kate felt she needed some time to herself and Leo was keen to focus on his career...

"Kate remains on good terms with Leo, there has been no falling out and there is no bitterness. They are talking daily and plan to meet and talk further soon."

So everything seems to be amicable - for now anyway.

The evening started off with dinner at celeb pub The Punchbowl in Mayfair, before KP's alter ego Jordan came out to play when the group moved onto celeb nightclub Mahiki for a bit of a boogie.

They then popped back to Gary's pad to freshen up before making a proper night of it by heading on to The Playboy Club at around 2.30am.

There's life in the old girl yet, eh?

What do you reckon? How long until she's found another victim man? Comment below...

The Saturdays are some of the busiest ladies in pop, but things are set to get even more hectic for the band after landing a big money US record deal.

The girl group are set to star in their own reality show as part of the contract, which will see them trying to crack the States.
According to the Daily Star on Sunday, the girls are planning to move to the US after their UK tour finishes to help further their American dream.

"This deal is huge for the girls," a source said. "If it goes well it could transform them from a UK girl band to international stars.

"US showbiz blogger Perez Hilton is expected to feature in the first episode as he champions the band and vows to help them become the next big thing."

Fans concerned for the health of expecting mum Una Healy need not worry either. She'll be putting her feet up while the rest of the girls put in the hours in the States. She will return to the group in time for the show's second series after the birth.

We just hope this doesn't mean we lose them to America.
