Kristin Davis has revealed she is now the proud mother of an adopted baby girl.

The Sex and the City star told People magazine that she took little Gemma Rose home for the first time a few months ago, after searching for a baby via a US adoption agency.
As SATC fans will remember, Kristin's character Charlotte also adopted a daughter during the hit show and now life has imitated art for the 46-year-old.

Kristin, who is currently single, explained: "This is something I have wanted for a very long time.

"Having this wish come true is even more gratifying than I ever had imagined. I feel so blessed."

Congratulations to Kristin on her new addition - we wish her all the best.

Paul McCartney is all set to tie the knot for the third time this afternoon, as he marries fiancée Nancy Shevell in a simple ceremony.

All smiles as they arrived for their nuptials, Macca and his new bride couldn't hide their joy as they waved to fans and posed for photographs.

Avoiding the big showbiz wedding the pair have opted instead to get hitched in front of just 30 guests at Marylebone Register Office, where Paul married first wife Linda in 1969.

Fellow Beatle Ringo Starr was in attendance, as were Sir Paul's five children.

According to the Daily Mail, the happy couple will then return to their St Johns Wood home for a marquee reception.

And it is there that Macca is rumoured to be serenading Nancy, not only with Beatles hit Let It Be but with a new song written specially for his third wife.
Friends of the couple, who got engaged in May, say Paul will speak lovingly of Linda, who tragically died from breast cancer in 1998, but unsurprisingly no reference to Heather Mills is expected.

Even with the champagne and van loads of flowers, Paul and Nancy's understated wedding is a far cry from the £1.5 million Heather Mills do.

We hope his third marriage will be a long and happy one.

Poorly Adele has been forced to cancel a number of live performances of late, not least her upcoming US tour.

But it's not the singing that's caused all the trouble... it's her chatting habit.

A bout of laryngitis is at the root of Adele's vocal problems and doctors have told her it's all down to the backstage jabbering.
Speaking to The Sun, Adele revealed: "Smoking is not the reason I got laryngitis - it was because I was talking too much.

"I damage my voice offstage, not onstage. Onstage I am fine as apparently I am technically great, but when I talk I damage my voice big time."

Unfortunately the Someone Like You singer's throat issues mean she has been forced to quit the ciggies... and she's gutted.

"I have got screwed into giving up smoking," she explained. "...Smoking is my favourite thing to do in the world, I am gutted I have had to give up."

Fair play to her though - she's done without any patches, gum or hypnotism, though she did add: "It f****** sucks."

Never mind the smoking Adele... if you don't stop chatting you could end up talking yourself out of a job.

There were tears all round last night (Gary Barlow excepted) as the X Factor's 'big twist' saw four acts ousted after just one live performance.

Essex girlband 2 Shoes, soldier Jonjo Kerr, hat-wearing James Michael and one-time favourite Amelia Lily all bit the dust after judges Gary, Tulisa, Kelly and Louis were forced to pick the worst of their contenders.
All four axed acts were understandably devastated and, as expected, judges Kelly and Tulisa shed their fair share of tears.

But it was 16-year-old Amelia Lily who seemed to struggle the most, prompting more concern over the show's age limit.

According to The Sun, once the cameras has stopped rolling, Amelia ran off stage and snubbed Kelly's attempts to console her.

She broke down again on The Xtra Factor and warned future wannabes: "It's a lot of pressure to take on and anyone who wants to audition next year, prepare yourself."

Unfortunately, even the drama of four weeping singers and judges who had spent all night crying (or so they said) over their decisions wasn't enough to get viewers excited because viewing figures were down by one million on last year's first live show.

Perhaps it was the half hour of ad breaks in Saturday night's epic two-and-a-half-hour show... perhaps we're missing Simon Cowell more than we realised.

Mind you, with a peak Saturday audience of 12.7 million we doubt ITV are too concerned.

A friend of Celebrity Big Brother winner Paddy Doherty ended up getting arrested AND taken to hospital after a fight at a reunion night out for the housemates at the weekend.

Paddy, 52, was joined by Amy Childs and Darryn Lyons at the now-famous Sugar Hut nightclub in Brentford - which is a favourite with the cast of The Only Way is Essex.
Things started nicely enough, with the former housemates posing for paps and larking around - but later on in the evening the mood turned sour.

A 30-year-old man thought to be in Paddy's party was involved in a fight with another man of the same age - which led to him being arrested and also taken to hospital with a fractured eye socket.

The other man was not arrested but is due to speak to police.

There was also a bit of TOWIE related gossip as Maria Fowler was spotted on a date with footballer Lee Croft, which seems somewhat insensitive to Sugar Hut owner Mick Norcross - with whom she had appeared to have a fledgling May-September romance.

Cheryl Cole seems to have finally acknowledged that she was once on this show called The X Factor, paying homage to it with a strange pair of leggings.

Cheryl was spotted jetting into LAX airport in Los Angeles last night wearing a pair of trousers that carried a motif very similar to the X Factor logo.

As we told you over the weekend, Cheryl suddenly remembered Simon Cowell's existence after bantering about his birthday on Twitter.
According to reports she also hired a plane to fly a massive banner over his Miami mansion wishing him a happy birthday, reading "Simon Cowell is 52 today! Ha ha ha! Love Cheryl xoxo".

Despite the music mogul being shy about his age, he was said to have found the prank 'hilarious'.

Perhaps this is all a massive sign that Cheryl is finally over getting axed from the US version of The X Factor five months ago, as sources close to the star have told The Mirror she believes it was the best thing to happen to her American career.

"Cheryl is in the best place she's been for years. She can't believe how well things are going on a professional level. Cheryl is very spiritual and believes everything happens for a reason.

"She can't believe how many doors have opened since being dumped by Simon. Rather than mess up her career it's almost kick-started it - especially as she won such rave reviews for her short stint on the US judging panel.

"If anything, she is one of the only ones to come out with much credit with the show not doing as well as they had hoped."

The world all feels a better place now we know they are pals again. This week's viewing figures for The X Factor only proved how much their partnership is missed.

Cheryl Cole seems to have finally acknowledged that she was once on this show called The X Factor, paying homage to it with a strange pair of leggings.

Cheryl was spotted jetting into LAX airport in Los Angeles last night wearing a pair of trousers that carried a motif very similar to the X Factor logo.

As we told you over the weekend, Cheryl suddenly remembered Simon Cowell's existence after bantering about his birthday on Twitter.
According to reports she also hired a plane to fly a massive banner over his Miami mansion wishing him a happy birthday, reading "Simon Cowell is 52 today! Ha ha ha! Love Cheryl xoxo".

Despite the music mogul being shy about his age, he was said to have found the prank 'hilarious'.

Perhaps this is all a massive sign that Cheryl is finally over getting axed from the US version of The X Factor five months ago, as sources close to the star have told The Mirror she believes it was the best thing to happen to her American career.

"Cheryl is in the best place she's been for years. She can't believe how well things are going on a professional level. Cheryl is very spiritual and believes everything happens for a reason.

"She can't believe how many doors have opened since being dumped by Simon. Rather than mess up her career it's almost kick-started it - especially as she won such rave reviews for her short stint on the US judging panel.

"If anything, she is one of the only ones to come out with much credit with the show not doing as well as they had hoped."

The world all feels a better place now we know they are pals again. This week's viewing figures for The X Factor only proved how much their partnership is missed.

Former Weezer bassist Mikey Welsh has been found dead in a hotel room, having apparently predicted the time and place of his death.

A drug overdose is suspected to have caused the death of the 40-year-old, who died in a Chicago hotel room while in town to see his old band perform.
His body was discovered when staff visited his room at the Raffaello hotel after he had failed to check out yesterday morning.

The dad-of-two tweeted on September 26: "dreamt i died in chicago next weekend (heart attack in my sleep). need to write my will today."

And he then added: "correction - the weekend after next."

He had given up music for painting after a mental breakdown and attempted suicide, later attributing his problems to drug use and several personality disorders.

He also made references to his impending death on his Facebook page, where he said an artwork was priced at $250 "if i am still alive at time of purchase, price to increase exponentially if i expire prematurely".

His family broke the news of his death by issuing a statement saying: "'We are deeply saddened to announce that Mikey Welsh passed away unexpectedly today. He will forever be remembered as an amazing father, artist, and friend. May he rest in peace."

And Weezer's official Twitter feed carried the following message: "We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear the awful news, our friend and fellow weez rocker @mikeywelsh71 has passed away. We love u Mikey."
