Cher gets her claws out for Kitty

PA/ITV

It's great when former X Factor contestants use the benefits of their experience to support the ambitious young hopefuls currently on the show.

But it's even better when they say bitchy things about them - and Cher Lloyd hasn't disappointed with her comments on ker-azy Kitty Brucknell.
Speaking at the Radio 1 Teen Awards, Cher told Digital Spy: "I'm very honest. If I don't like an act then I'll say. The one that sticks out for me is Kitty - I have a big thing about her.

"She's got a lot learn. I just dislike the way she acts, and she acts that way to get the attention.

"I think it's just part of her personality. I know we can't all get on with everyone, but I think her approach to things is wrong."

Meeeeow!

And Cher hasn't just confined her constructive criticism to Cher either, she's also had a pop at her old enemy Louis Walsh.

Asked about the judges, she said: "I'm really liking Kelly - she's doing really well. But you've still got Louis. Urgh!

"Do you know what? He's bored. Let him have his little play around. Louis, I love yer... do I 'eck!

"What he doesn't realise is we're going to bump into each other at some party or whatever. That is, if he's not at home watching Coronation Street."

Touche!

Cher recently called for the government to do something about online bullying. Is it us or is that a bit ironic?

What do you think? Is Cher a loudmouth or a breath or fresh air - or both? Comment below...

A busy day of interviews with newspapers and radio stations followed by an early evening appearance on Strictly It Takes Two meant an early morning dash in the dark by car from Wales to London.
Talk about footloose! After a long day I kicked off my shoes and did the interview with Zoe Ball in my cushion clutching, stocking feet - clutching a cushion because - as I revealed to the viewers - the shirt was a tad tight and sometimes we all need a cushion!

No respite on Friday with another early morning start for BBC's Breakfast Show. You'll remember this was where I started back in the 80's so in a strange way it was like coming home to be back on that couch! It was great to hear Alex and James sharing their thoughts about the show so far.

Then more interviews on Friday morning and a vital last practice salsa session with Flavia in the hope of delivering the perfect performance on Saturday.

Flavia and I have had so many good luck messages from well-wishers, it really gives us both such a big boost. It really means a lot to us to know you're out there urging us on.

And so.... ON WITH THE SHOW.... And what a scintillating start from Chelsee and passion-packed Pasha - one of three couples to scoop a magnificent 29 points.

Dan and Katya gave us some head over heels fun and my old buddy Lulu with partner Brendan bounced back with a fabulously graceful performance.

Holly and Artem's great cha-cha-cha performance last week was followed up this week with high kicking brilliance that even had Craig saying "Great!" - where will it all end?

Weren't Robbie and Ola just so stylish and smooth? They deserved their standing ovation, I was thrilled and once again our Craig loved it!

Jason and Kristina stole the show and our hearts. What a class act they are. They told a great story and their moves are just awe inspiring to watch.

I can't go without mentioning the wonderful Nancy and Anton. They were thrilling, exciting and epitomise what Strictly is about. Glitzy and glamorous, they showed us all a trick or two on the dance floor despite Nancy's bad leg.

After my results on Zoe's campometer and Bruce's Glastonbury "camp as a row of tents" gag I was over the moon to be the 'Dancing Queen' of the night - even the judges thought I put "the 'boy' in flamboyant! Of course I loved every milli-second and Flavia, my soulmate and inspiration once again showed me the moves that make her a champion.

Of course, this is Strictly and so the voting process has started. It's a bit hackneyed to say 'Someone has to go' but that is the name of the game and so Edwina and Vincent have left us, a wonderful, gracious lady with a fabulous dance partner. Well Done Edwina!

And now I am off to practice my Foxtrot!

Mary Portas: 'Kate Middleton is not a fashion icon'

The "Queen of Shops" Mary Portas has dissed the future Queen of Great Britain Kate Middleton - pouring cold water on any suggestion that she is a "fashion icon".

While most of the media has been falling over itself to pronounce the Duchess of Cambridge a style icon, businesswoman and TV personality Mary clearly thinks that some people have been getting a bit carried away.
Speaking in an interview with Heat magazine, she said: "Is that fashion? I think she's done an incredible job globally, but I do not know how you can say she is a fashion icon. I just don't get that."

Take that Kate!

Has Mary got a point?

And Mary had even harsher words for the female members of the current coalition government.

She said: "If I were PM I'd bloody restyle all those women. I mean, the female cabinet, what an ugly bunch. I would restyle them.

"Do you know, I could not look at them. I couldn't look at them! I go in for meetings now and they do dress up for my meetings, but I just want to go, 'Pleeease. No. Not that necklace. Not that skirt'."

Mary has been working with the government on a strategy to try to halt the decline of high street shops, in case you wondered why she was talking about cabinet meetings.

We doubt that she'll get the nice biscuits put out next time she's in now.

But she did have a nice word for one celeb's style - the new Dragon's Den tycoon Hilary Devey - and we have to say we agree wholeheartedly with her!

Mary said: "I've become a big Hilary Devey fan. That voice after 60 fags... That can only be 60 fags. In a camp way, it suits her, doesn't it? In a really camp way, it slightly borders on caricature and '80s glamour and power dressing.

"What can you say? It's her. I wouldn't restyle her. I think the press were a bit mean at first, but they've come to like her, because she's good on that show and seems like a good person. She wants to cut back on the fags, though, because she won't be able to do this much longer."

What do you reckon on Mary's comments? Off with her head? Comment below...

Chelsea's Francis: 'I dumped Emma Watson for being too famous'

Don't you love it when reality tv chancers get ideas above their station? Especially when they drag real bona fide stars into the story.

That's why we particularly enjoyed reading that Made in Chelsea's Francis Boulle has claimed that he dumped Harry Potter actress Emma Watson because he wanted to be taken seriously as an artist in his own right (or something like that).
Being interviewed in the current issue of Heat magazine, 22-year-old Francis said: "We had a bit of a thing a while back, but I have always been an ambitious person and I want to achieve my own notoriety for what I've done.

"That's why I chose not to pursue it any longer, because I didn't want to be the boyfriend of some child actress."

Hmmm, is it us or does that sound a bit dismissive? Francis must have thought so too because he was quick to qualify his comments.

He said: "
I actually really like Emma. She's a really cool person. She's a very different person to who she is in the media. That's what I liked about her - she's very interesting."

Yes Francis, we're sure she's like totally amaaaazing yah.
She's probably not that bothered though, as the last we heard she was shacked up with her new man.

What do you reckon? Has he made himself look silly or are we being mean? Comment below...

Macca's neighbours have a hard day's night

When Paul McCartney and his famous pals come together for a wedding reception they're bound to go helter skelter for a good time.

Unfortunately, that makes for a hard day's night for Macca's neighbours.

After Paul and Nancy had said 'I will' at Marylebone Register Office on Sunday, they headed back to his St John's Wood home for the after-party.
But according to the Daily Mail, not everyone shared their enthusiasm.

At 1.30am, Sir Paul's neighbours were still unable to enjoy their golden slumbers and decided to ask for help... from the local council.

Just as Mark Ronson was about to begin his DJ set inside the woodland fairytale-themed marquee, officers from Westminster council arrived at the Macca residence insisting that he keep the noise down.

Since Paul's no longer the rebellious rocker type, he was happy to work it out with the council chaps, and the newlyweds were able to get back to the party.

And the most hardcore amongst their famous guests (as if you need to ask)? Kate Moss and Ronnie Wood, of course, both of whom finally left at 3am.

What do you think - do you predict a happy marriage for Paul and Nancy? Leave a comment below...

One of the X Factor's first live show casualties has revealed she felt as though her heart had been "ripped out" after being dumped by mentor Kelly Rowland.

Amelia Lily was one of four hopefuls to leave the show on Sunday night, as each judge was forced to lose one of their acts.

Last night, she told The Sun: "It is literally the hardest thing you could ever go through in your life. It's like having your heart ripped out."

The 16-year-old also slammed producers' decision to do away with the public vote.

"My fan base is ridiculously big now. If it was a public vote I would have got through," she complained.
Amelia's parents are also furious about the weekend's events.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, mum Aranka Oliver said: "What's happened is so cruel, it's disgusting. We are very upset by it all. The rule to kick a contestant from each category out was thrown on everyone so unexpectedly."

She added: "I know it's a competition, but I don't know why the contestants are built up so much and then so easily dropped.

"You have to expect ups and downs in the entertainment industry, but this was very cruel. The contestants are put in a vulnerable position."

Was the X Factor twist cruel?

Essex girl duo 2 Shoes, soldier Jonjo Kerr and James Michael were also booted off the show on Sunday night.

She might scrub up nice and pretty for The X Factor, but Tulisa Contostavlos has shown that she hasn't lost her street attitude in her latest Twitter rant.

Addressing women who have been trying to get with her man, N-Dubz bandmate Fazer, she fired off a volley of warnings - including a threat to "woop ass".
She tweeted: "2 all women!don't mess with my man!I may b famous but I will still cum and woop ur ass if u underestimate me!don't b disrespectful...

"MGW women make me laugh, NO darlin not only is he not interested but he came straight back n told me LHFAO bout u,years ago it wuda been hot."

MGW stands for "money grabbing wh*re" by the way.

And she later admitted that she'd been stirring it up after Fazer, real name Richard Rawson, told her that he'd had to fend off the advances of the mystery woman.

She explained: "4 the record that rant was directed at a girl tryin it on with my fella who she knows is with me! WELL DESERVED"

Phew, our computer's spell checker almost had a nervous breakdown dealing with those tweets.

Tulisa's Twitter handle is - and meanwhile, her fellow X Factor judge Gary Barlow has joined the social networking site as @GBarlowOfficial.

He quickly gathered well over 300,000 followers but at the time of writing he was following just eight people - all of which were corporate accounts apart from Kelly Rowland, another X Factor bod and Robbie Williams.

We suspect he's just joined to keep an eye on the Robster.

What do you think of Tulisa? Refreshingly feisty or just coarse? Comment below...

Jodie Marsh: 'Everyone is jealous of my new figure'

You were probably as shocked as us to see glamour girl Jodie Marsh's transformation into a pumped-up bodybuilder last week.

But it seems the feelings that you assumed were surprise may actually have been the subtle stab of jealousy - at least according to the woman herself anyway.
Jodie has given an interview to heat magazine in which she reveals that her new body - for which she has been working for three years - makes her feel "like Superwoman" and explains why she got into the competitive side of the hobby.

She said: "I've been talking about becoming a competitive bodybuilder for three years with my trainer, Tim.

"I feel proud when I look in the mirror. I still can't believe it's my body. Like, when I look at my abs, I'm just like, f**king hell, I love it so much! I'm the prettiest I've ever looked. It has totally changed my life, doing this.

"My self-esteem is higher, my confidence is higher, I feel more secure, feel powerful - I almost feel invincible. I do feel a bit like Superwoman.

"If you're not in the bodybuilding world it is scary, but to me it's normal. The more muscly and defined the better. It's natural bodybuilding and not steroid. The steroid ones are f**king scary. I think I still look really feminine."

Jodie denied that her new pursuit was nothing to do with seeking fame or attention.

And if you've been inspired to "get the look" (as the fashion mags say), she also explained how to go about it.

She continued: "Basically, you live on protein the whole time. Then, from the Thursday before the competition, you eat only carbs so your muscles grow even bigger.

"Then the day before you dehydrate yourself and, that night, you drink a glass of wine, so when you wake up you're completely pumped. You want as many visible veins as possible.

"Before I had my nose done at 15, I was bullied about how gross and big it was. I had surgery to sort it out and I got bullied even more. They called me "Michael Jackson" and "Rubber Face". I probably still bear the scars. Now every single person around me is jealous of my body."

You can read the full interview in the current edition of heat magazine, one sale now.

It's official: Cheryl Cole is a bona fide trendsetter.

It was only yesterday that we spotted Cheryl wearing a pair of trousers with what looked suspiciously like the X Factor logo emblazoned across them.

Fast forward 24 hours and not one, but two American style queens have both been snapped wearing the same design.
First up, Nicole Richie was spotted leaving a LA hair salon in a similar pair of trews to Chezza's and then Hilary Duff rocked up for an appearance on Good Morning America in New York in a dress with the same motif.

I know viewing figures for the X Factor USA have been disappointing and ratings for the UK version are down on last year, but is Simon Cowell really that desperate to drum up some interest that he's resorted to forcing celebs into X Factor outfits to plug the shows?

Um, well apparently not. The design is actually courtesy of French designer Isabel Marant and is based on a Native American pattern - a snip at £395 for the jeans.

Which is a shame, as I think that pattern would look simply devine on a pair of Simon's high-waisted trousers.

And if you're after some more information on the young man in question, his name is Taylor Kinney and for the eagle-eyed among you, you may recognise him from Gaga's video for latest single You and I. He's the one she writhes around with when she's done thrashing about as a mermaid in a bath tub.

The actor has also appeared in the American series The Vampire Diaries, which airs here on ITV2.

Gaga seemed to confirm their relationship when she made an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show last Saturday. When the chat show host asked if she was currently dating, she replied, "You know I don't talk about my love life but I'm very happy."

She also revealed some more details about how she likes to be wooed.

"When someone is unafraid to approach me that is what I find to be very sexy.

"I really don't like it when people contact my management for a date. I'm like f*** off, no. I'll be at home heating up a chunky soup watching Will and Grace. No thanks."

Earlier this year Gaga ended her on-off relationship with bad boy guitarist Luc Carl.

Let's just hope this latest dalliance doesn't turn out to be another bad romance...

Mitch Winehouse has revealed that he is to write a memoir about the tragically short life of his daughter Amy, with all the proceeds going to a foundation set up in her memory.

The book, which will be called Amy, My Daughter, will be published by HarperCollins next summer - and Mitch says that writing it will help him deal with Amy's death this July at the age of 27.
He said: "I feel that I need to write this book to tell the true story of Amy and to help with my personal recovery.

"I also want to raise as much money as possible for Amy's foundation, so all proceeds from the book will go directly to help children who are disadvantaged through illness and substance addiction.

"I believe that through Amy's music, her foundation, and this book, her name will live forever."

And Nick Canham, the editorial director of Harper Non-Fiction paid tribute to Mitch.

He said: "The strength Mitch Winehouse has shown over recent months is truly admirable.

"His desire to create a definitive account of Amy's life, that will solely benefit the foundation he has established in her name, is something that we are incredibly proud to be part of."
