Following more than half a year of violent conflict leading to a bloody revolution, the people of Libya are overjoyed to welcome Hollywood star and UN ambassador Angelina Jolie to their shattered nation.Well, at least the doctor and the other man accompanying her on this hospital tour must be, because they appear to be ignoring their countryman's tragic injury to gaze soulfully at Ange instead.
But cheap gags aside, the 36-year-old has been touring the ruined city of Misurata, which was recently taken by rebels from forces loyal to deposed dictator Colonel Gadaffi.
And as well as taking the time to meet individual victims of the conflict, she has met representatives of the interim government.
She paid tribute to the Libyan people, saying: "What's extraordinary is that a lot of the people who are part of the solution and are working in positions of even the military, and you find that just before the revolution they had retired, or were running restaurants or were selling baby clothes.
"They've all quit their jobs and they are all working here now on behalf of their country."
