Anton and Nancy clash over Strictly dance moves

We told you it wouldn't be long before Strictly pro Anton du Beke was yearning for last year's partner Ann Widdecombe.

Dancefloor diva Nancy Dell'Olio hasn't just been causing trouble for backstage staff - she's reportedly laying into her dance partner too.

The demanding Italian came close to getting the boot on last night's show after a tango that was described by judge Craig as "like a plodding mule trudging through the mud".

She was saved when Daybreak presenter Dan Lobb was voted off but according to The Mirror, she's blaming Anton for the close call.

A source told the paper that Nancy had a "good old moan" about her professional mentor in the BBC bar, claiming du Beke is only interested in making himself look good.
"Clearly they both have enormous egos," the gossip said. "But she wants him to realise that she is the star and his job is to get her through each week.

"She is finding some of the steps he chooses too difficult, but he enjoys doing them so he keeps them in."

Apparently Dell'Olio also declared that notorious ladies' man Anton "must be gay" and was shocked to learn that he most definitely was not.

A BBC insider confirmed the pair had clashed, saying: "It's fair to say there is no love lost between Anton and Nancy. When this is all over, I don't think they will remain friends."

Maybe not, but there's nothing like a bit of tension to ramp up the ratings.

What do you think - is it all for show or have Nancy and Anton really fallen out? Leave a comment below...

X Factor: NuVibe get the boot, Kelly's been 'meddling' and Cowell's 'furious'

X Factor group NuVibe bid an emotional farewell to the talent competition last night as they became the first act to be voted off by the public.

The boyband were put together by mentor Tulisa at the boot camp stage but failed to gel and lost out in a sing-off against Frankie Cocozza.
Tulisa openly wept as her act sang their last but she probably wasn't the only one feeling low after Sunday's show.

According to today's Sun newspaper, the X Factor is in crisis and Simon Cowell has been on the blower to "tear a strip off" the new judges.

Viewing figures were already down on last year when the live shows kicked off but a further 700,000 viewers deserted this week.

And Simon's reportedly "gone ballistic".

An insider told the paper: "Simon is furious. This would never have happened on his watch and he wants the team to know this and sort it out.

"He knows there is great talent on the show, but he thinks the attention to detail has been shocking. The acts are not being showcased at their best."

So Gary, Louis, Tulisa and Kelly have been told to "raise their game" after a week of disappointing song choices and dodgy outfits.

But that's not the only problem. Apparently Kelly Rowland is bringing her very own brand of 'diva' to the show by "meddling" in everyone's affairs.

The Sun reports that Kelly tried to change Tulisa's song choice for Rhythmix, got Louis in a lather over Sami Brookes' outfits and has been "interfering with hair, make-up and styling" for her own acts.

Hmm... we sense a surprise guest judge (ahem, Simon Cowell) might soon be on the cards.

Which was your favourite X Factor performance from Saturday\'s show?

What do you think - can the X Factor really succeed without Cowell? Leave a comment below...

Over the weekend we reported the sad news that Coronation Street legend Betty Driver had passed away after a short illness aged 91.

The actress who played Betty Turpin - later Williams - in the soap for over 42 years, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday.

Ever since, messages of condolence have been pouring in for Betty, with co-star William Roche leading the way with a heartfelt tribute, hailing her as the 'colossus of Coronation Street'.
The actor who has played Ken Barlow since the series started, told The Sun:

"Betty's death was incredibly sad news - though not entirely unexpected.

"Betty was a loving, generous, caring person, where humour was never far away. She was an 'Earth mother', always happy and jolly.

"Though she never had any children of her own, it was as if we were all hers. She had so much love to give - and it was such a pure love, too.

"It made her perfect to be godmother to my son James, which she did brilliantly.

"She was the obvious - and only - choice. And as for a favourite memory, I'll just remember her coming in each day, knocking on my door with a cheery 'Hello'.

"If she were here now, she'd probably be a bit embarrassed by everyone talking about her like we are. She'd be having none of it."

Other cast members have also released statements and tweeted their sadness of losing the Weatherfield icon.

Helen Flanagan (Rosie Webster): "Just heard that Betty Driver has died. Absolute legend. She will be so missed x Thoughts are with Mark Hudson who was also very close x"

Antony Cotton (Sean Tully): "Today is a very sad day. I am devastated. We've lost our Betty. She was one of the funniest people I've ever met and definitely the kindest. I will miss her so much. Her star shone bright and long. Sweet dreams, Duck."

Katherine Kelly (Becky McDonald): "Our Betty - the true and constant Queen of The Rovers. The most famous street in the Kingdom will never be the same now you are gone, but those sparkling eyes and cheeky laugh will live with me forever."

Chris Fountain (Tommy Duckworth): "So sad to hear about betty, I didn't work with her for long but what an amazing woman, so friendly, a true legend and pro.. Rest in peace x."

Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor): "Such a sad day. Betty we will miss you so much, a legend and an amazing lady. Loved so much by so many people. God bless xxx.

Helen Worth (Gail Platt): "Our dearest Betty was loved by all she met, and will be sadly missed by all the cast and everyone working on the 'Street'. The legacy she leaves is of laughter and love. The Rovers will not be the same without our adorable Betty."

Sally Lindsay (Shelley Unwin): "Just cried with an old friend on the passing of the wonderful Betty Driver, she taught me more about comedy timing than anyone I've ever met. The world was a better place because she was in it. Goodnight Betty, rest in peace I loved you very, very much.x x"

Soap bosses are now working out the best way to send off Betty's character, meeting today to discuss a fitting tribute.

"Our scriptwriters will ensure that Betty is written out in the best possible way. All the cast are keen to contribute to show their respect," a source told The Sun.

Rest in peace Betty, You and your hotpot will never be forgotten.

The Saturdays' Frankie checks into clinic

Blinkin' heck, I didn't see this one coming. First Sarah Harding checks into rehab and now according to reports, fellow girl grouper Frankie Sandford has checked into a treatment centre.
A spokesman for The Saturdays told The Daily Star that the singer has been admitted to a clinic for 'unconfirmed reasons' after she was a no-show at most of the girl's engagements last week - including an interview with us here at Eleven.

It's still not clear exactly why the 22-year-old is in the undisclosed unit but, according to her peeps at least, her treatment has nothing to do with drink, drugs or (bizarrely) cosmetic procedures.

The rumour mill went into overdrive last week that all was not well in The Saturdays camp with fans speculating that Frankie had left the girl group and that they were on the verge of splitting.

But Frankie took to Twitter over the weekend to tell fans she wasn't well, writing: 'Sorry I haven't tweeted in a while. I've not been very well. Miss u @MollieTheSats @unahealy @vanessawhite @rochelleTheSats I'll b back soon x'

We've been in touch with her management so we'll keep you updated but in the meantime everyone here at Eleven HQ is sending Frankie big hugs and wishing her a speedy recovery.

Is the world ready for Brad and Jen Mk II? We hope so because it looks like reports last month about J.Lo dating Bradley Cooper were accurate.

US gossip site TMZ has reported that although the couple are not yet officially an item, they are "casually dating".
A photo surfaced at the weekend of Bradley driving an SUV while a woman who looked a lot like J.Lo covered her face from the camera.

TMZ quotes a source as saying "they are definitely dating", but it doesn't look like they are definitely a couple yet.

Meanwhile People quoted another source as saying: "After their date in New York, Bradley and Jennifer stayed in touch. She does like his attention, and it makes her feel good that he seems so into her. She has a fun time with Bradley, and he makes her laugh."

The Hangover star Bradley may be a bit of a player, because he has also been reported to have dated actresses Scarlett Johansson and Olivia Wilde this year.

J.Lo has been single since splitting with hubby Marc Anthony in the summer.

What do you reckon? Do they make a good couple? Comment below...
