Ashton: 'I could never be with a woman who wants to change me'

After all the speculation and rumours, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher finally confirmed that they were parting company earlier this week.

So it's unfortunate that prior to the big announcement, Ashton gave an interview in which he dished out relationship advice.

Having said that, his thoughts on a successful relationship are laden with digs at Demi hints at what was to come.
Speaking to Women's Health magazine, Kutcher said, "I think it's all about working on the relationship and making it better... when it's good.

"Don't wait for a problem to work on things. The goal is not to get into a relationship; the goal is to be in a relationship."

Hmm... sounds like Ashton may have come up with that pearl of wisdom a little too late.

The Two and a Half Men star goes on to describe his ideal woman (putting the feelers out already, are we Ashton?).

"I could never be with a woman who... wow, that's tough. I could never be with a woman who felt like she needed to change me," he said.

"I would just like a woman someday, somewhere, at some point in my life to say to me, 'You're a great listener'. Haven't heard it yet, and that's a superior compliment to get from a woman. But I'm going to work on it."

Judging by the many rumours swirling around his split from Demi, finding a woman who doesn't want to change him might be tricky.

What do you reckon - pointed remarks from Ashton or are we reading too much into it? Leave a comment below...

Craig Colton dating X Factor old boy Danyl Johnson?

Romance has reportedly blossomed between current X Factor contestant Craig Colton and former talent show inmate Danyl Johnson.

According to The Sun, show favourite Craig has been getting close to the X Factor old boy for two weeks and the pair were spotted cosying up on London's South Bank last weekend.
Since then there have been shopping trips and West End theatre evenings.

A gossip told the paper, "They're very much the item. They've become inseparable and text non-stop when they're not together.

"Everyone thought they were just swapping war stories from their experiences on the show, but it turns out it's blossomed."

For those of you don't remember Danyl, he was the X Factor's love-to-hate contestant of 2009 and was at the centre of some controversy when Dannii Minogue brought up his bisexuality during a live show.

So he'll understand how Craig felt when he was outed by Nu Vibe.

But according to The Sun, not everyone's happy about Craig's new relationship. Fellow Scouser Marcus is said to be "worried" and has told his pal to "concentrate on his performances".

We'll just have to wait for tonight's movie-themed show to see whether Craig has taken his advice and knuckled down.

Chiles and Bleakley to leave Daybreak 'within weeks'

Early morning sofa duo Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley are reportedly set to leave Daybreak "within weeks".

The former BBC dream team are rumoured to have been axed because of the breakfast show's dismal viewing figures and, according to the Daily Mail, have both been told they're out.
Rumours of a reshuffle began two weeks ago but it is now thought that the axe has already swung for Christine and Adrian.

A big-mouthed insider told the Mail, "They ran out of time. The advertising numbers had fallen off a cliff because Adrian and Christine were such a turn-off. In today's climate, that was unacceptable."

Since GMTV became Daybreak, ITV's early morning show has been getting half the viewers of it's Auntie Beeb rival and the appointment of a new editor, David Kermode (formerly of BBC Breakfast) suggests changes are afoot.

Lucky Christine got that Dancing on Ice job then eh?

What do you think - if the reports are true, will you miss Chiles and Bleakley and who would you like to see replace them? Leave a comment below...

Kelly Rowland makes peace with Janet Devlin

After a series of tepid performances, Janet Devlin will be desperate to raise her game on tonight's X Factor.

So it's good to hear that she's made peace with mentor Kelly Rowland before it's too late.

After last week's live shows, rumours of a rift between the pair were rife, with Janet reportedly feeling "unloved and ignored" and barely on speaking terms with the Destiny's Child singer.

According to today's Mirror newspaper though, the rowing pair have reached an "uneasy truce".

Kelly revealed that she and her three girls - Janet, Misha B and Amelia Lily - enjoyed a relaxing bonding session at a spa this week.

She told the paper, "We hung out. Everything is fine. I took them out because I definitely had to give them a breather ahead of this weekend."
Kelly's plan obviously worked too, because 17-year-old Janet told the Mirror that she'd be staying in touch with her mentor whatever happened, saying, "She looks after us so well that you can't break that bond that you've made throughout the show."

While Janet bids to get back on track, however, Amelia Lily is reportedly struggling in the wake of last week's sensational return.

A show insider revealed that the comeback queen had broken down during rehearsals ahead of this week's movie themed performance and Kelly was forced to "give her a pep talk".

Tune in to tonight's show to see how the girls get on.

What do you think - can Janet get back to X Factor favouritism and will the pressure tell for Amelia Lily? Comments below please...

X Factor: Marcus gives movie night a lift

What with Dermot's dodgy dancing (please make it stop) and the judges rolling out the same old comments X Factor movie night was beginning to feel like a box office flop.

Praise be for Marcus Collins, who saved the day with an uplifting performance of Otis Redding's (Your Love Has Lifted Me) Higher and Higher, complete with full gospel choir.
The judges were duly wowed - Gary called it the "performance of the night", Kelly said Marcus had "shut the building down" and Louis still can't find anything bad to say about him.

Also putting themselves firmly in contention were Little Mix.

Their rendition of En Vogue's Don't Let Go from the movie Set it Off received a standing ovation and high praise from Kelly Rowland who declared, "I think you'll be the biggest girl band to ever come out of the UK."

Scouser Craig Colton, who denied yesterday's reports that he's dating former contestant Danyl Johnson, opened the show with the Bond theme License to Kill - the judges couldn't fault his vocals but Louis sparked yet another song choice argument, his comments branded "lazy critique" by mentor Gary Barlow.

Janet Devlin improved on last week with Kiss Me from rom-com How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Misha B blew the judges away with her performance of Whitney's I Have Nothing.

The 19-year-old was left with tears streaming down her face after a tough week in which her birth mother's open letter was published in a glossy mag.

X Factor live shows round-upRex

Gary said after her powerful performance, "I completely disagree with everyone watching this show, I can't believe no one is voting for you," but he urged her to ditch the "safe" song choices and bring back the old Misha B.

And despite rumours of rehearsal meltdowns, Amelia Lily belted out Aretha Franklin's Think, which featured in Bridget Jones' Diary.

Her rendition did, however, prompt the most awkward moment of the series when Tulisa admitted she didn't know the song.

Picture tumbleweed.
