She WILL go to the ball: Mila Kunis makes US Sergeant's year

It's not every day you manage to bag yourself a date with a movie star but that's exactly what a US soldier did after asking Mila Kunis to the Marine Corps Ball in an online video.
Sergeant Scott Moore recorded the video message (below) back in July after making a bet with a friend and his wishes were granted when the Black Swan actress accompanied him to the military bash on Friday.

In the video he said: "Hey Mila, it's Sergeant Moore, but you can call me Scotty.

"I just wanted to take a moment out of my day to invite you to the Marine Corps Ball on November 18 in Greenville, North Carolina, with yours truly.

"Take a second, think about it and get back to me."

Mila KunisBig Pictures

And the actress did just that when she was told about the video during an interview with Fox News, saying: "When is it? When is the Marine Corps Ball? I'll go. We're gonna make this happen."

Another soldier wasn't quite so lucky. He asked Scarlett Johansson to be his date but she turned him down, sending bottles of bubbly to make up for it instead.

Christine Bleakley dumped 'because she couldn't cover news'

The fallout from Christine Bleakley and Adrian Chiles' axing from breakfast flop Daybreak continues, as it's been revealed bosses originally just wanted to scrap Christine and keep Adrian.

Bosses told the Irish presenter she was to be given the boot because she lacked the ability to host the show's news content, but co-host Adrian stood by his pal and then found himself on the scrap heap too.

The pair are set to leave the show before the new year, after Adrian told bosses he wouldn't host the show without his former The One Show partner.

"Christine is a lovely girl - but she is much more suited to light entertainment," a source told the Daily Mail.
"She does not have the gravitas when it comes to big news. When it comes to big stories and breaking news, it needs to be handled by trained news journalists, who happen to have a warmth to them. The public know this, they need to trust their presenters."

Yesterday, Adrian blasted the decision to make the sacking public saying, "We were assured we could go with our dignity intact. That's obviously not happened."

ITV newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky and former GMTV host Eamonn Holmes have reportedly been approached to replace Christine and Adrian.

At least Christine can seek comfort in the fact she has landed herself a job replacing Holly Willoughby on next year's Dancing on Ice.

What do you think of the pair's axing? Is it the right decision? Leave a comment below.

Gaga makes Amy Winehouse pilgrimage

Lady Gaga has revealed she made a secret visit to the former home of Amy Winehouse to pay last respects to her 'musical hero'.
The singer - who dressed in disguise for the visit - had previously spoken of how Amy had been a huge inspiration and given her 'hope' before she became a star.

"I didn't know Amy; I just loved her so much," she told US radio host JoJo Wright. "I was such a huge fan, and I was a go-go dancer in New York when she was really big. So Amy gave me hope."

Meanwhile, Gaga has revealed that she is to record a duet with Elton John. The singer - who is godmother to the Brit singer's son Zachary - is to team up with Elton on a brand new track she has written for her next album.

Talking to Alan Carr she said: "I haven't really duetted with anyone and my next duet, I believe, will be with Elton. I'm already working on my next album and I played him a song that I wrote and he really loved it. I don't want to give anything away!"

It's not the first time the pair have collaborated. They duetted at last year's Grammy Awards and also recorded a song for the animated movie Gnomeo & Juliet.

Russell Grant: 'I was offered X Factor job'

He might have been booted off Strictly this weekend, but there could still be a job for Russell Grant over on The X Factor.

The astrologer has revealed he was approached by the rival show to appear as a guest judge because of his background in musical theatre.

He told The Sun, "About four weeks ago I got a call from someone. I won't name names."

"But basically they said, 'If you get voted out before the final, will you come and be a guest judge for one of the shows?' It would have been my forte... the presentation of the song is my thing."
But despite the offer, Russell decided not to take them up on it.

"I said, 'Thank you ever so much but I'm with Strictly until Blackpool because we all go to the final'."

Meanwhile, X Factor bosses have issued a complete denial of the offer, saying: "This is complete nonsense. We have no idea what he's talking about."

Russell's Strictly Diary: Show 8

BBC

Well... there we are - all good things must come to an end.

Saturday's Wembley show was an exhilarating, exciting exit for me and I couldn't have asked for a better send off.
The Big Bang theory saw me flying through the air with maybe not the greatest of ease and then landing to jive with the fabulous Flavia. It was all great fun, but you and I know that each week one couple flies through the air and lands with a bump!

Even so the audience gave us a standing ovation. Sir Bruce claimed I had "Done it again!" Alesha said "Just when you think you've seen it all - that was the best ever entrance on Strictly" and Bruno claimed it as "Incredible or bit of madness" and he "Loved it!"

Craig was reduced to a "Revolutionary!"

Len added that whenever people talk about the history of Strictly they will always say, "Do you remember when Russell Grant flew out of that cannon at Wembley?"

In many ways it is sad to go; I will miss the other dancers and all the wonderful people who have helped me backstage and away from the camera's lens in production, wardrobe and make-up. In other ways it will be nice to catch my breath before the final show and spend more time at home in the mountains of Wales and start learning lines for my pantomime season in Milton Keynes.

We have waved goodbye to some lovely people and there will be more sad moments before the final in Blackpool but that's what the show is all about.

Well, good luck to all those still on the floor. They are all fabulous dancers and each one of them deserves to win. I will miss you all, but I won't miss those long practice sessions or those nerve racking results shows!

I shall end where I started - all good things must come to an end! See you soon my friends and KEEP DANCING!
