He's already come to the aid of one damsel in distress by partnering Holly Valance when her regular dancer Artem was injured, and now Brendan Cole has dashed to the rescue of Anita Dobson too.

The Kiwi hoofer is stepping in to squire former EastEnder Anita on this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing after her normal partner Robin Windsor contracted an infection in his right foot and was put on antibiotics.
Brendan and Anita, 62, will dance the swing and another dance this weekend - with Robin hopefully fit to make a return the following week if Anita makes it through.

She said: "'I am utterly distraught that Robin is laid up sick at home in bed, but hopefully he will be back on his feet soon.

"I'm really excited at the prospect of dancing with Brendan though - it's a fantastic opportunity."

And Robin commented: "I am devastated that I am unable to dance with Anita this week. I have amazing faith in Brendan to look after Anita and do a great job this coming weekend.

"I can't wait to get my dancing shoes back on and get back to fighting for that glitterball trophy!"

We wish you a speedy recovery Robin and we hope you're back on your feet soon!

Will Anita stay in this weekend? Who do you think will win this year? Comment below...

His X Factor dream might be over but it hasn't all been a complete waste of time for Craig Colton because he's bagged himself a couple of rather famous - and influential - friends during the competition.

The Liverpool lad has revealed that not only has his mentor Gary Barlow become a close friend but he's also kept in touch with Robbie Williams since they met at Judge's Houses.

"After Judges' Houses, I kept in touch with Robbie," he told Digital Spy. "We exchanged numbers and email addresses. We kept in touch throughout the whole process and he's definitely a friend as well."
"He's just been really supportive and trying to help me where possible. I'm really passionate about songwriting and he's been helping me with that, helping me be the best that I can and demonstrated on a few of his own tracks how he wrote them.

"He's definitely, definitely helping me and he's a lovely guy."

And he also revealed that he'll be meeting Gary for a drink in the not too distant future.

"If I phoned him to come out with me, he totally would," he said. "We really are that good friends. That's the most wonderful thing. He wasn't just a mentor, he became a really good friend. That's been the highlight of this whole experience."

And despite becoming close to Marcus Collins during his time on the show, Craig is backing Little Mix to win this year's X Factor.

"Those girls have grown every week. The first couple of weeks they were always favourite to leave, they battled through that, and I really hope that they get what they deserve out of this.

"So, Little Mix... Janet... or Marcus... in fact, all of them deserve to be there. But if I'm picking one, I'll say Little Mix."

Vanessa - The Saturdays: How Showbiz Are You?

Fascination

Vanessa White may not grab as many headlines as the rest The Saturdays, but that doesn't mean fame hasn't gone to her head by now. Or has it? Time to find out if 'Ness has developed a touch of the 'don't-you-know-who-I-ams?'.
1. Who is the most famous person in your mobile?
I'm really lame - just the girls really. I've got Marvin from JLS in my phonebook.
1/5. It's a start but you may want to work on making some famous chums though Ness.

2. What it the most bizarre thing you've ever read about yourself?
They're forever linking me to anyone because I'm single. It's quite funny. I'm a little bit over it now when people are like 'poor you, the single one'. I'm having fun, leave it out. When I was on Popstar to Operastar, someone said I was a massive diva. I was like, are you joking me? That was hilarious. Come and spend the day with me and I'll take you round all the good pubs in London.
2/5. Double voddy and lemonade please.

3. How much is too much for a haircut?
We don't know because we don't pay to get it done! That's showbiz! When we're working we're like, 'let's just have a trim'. Our hairdresser has even been in a few of our videos - he sprays the hairspray in If This Ain't Love.
3/5. A hairdresser on call? Not bad.

4. Katie Price - friend or foe?
I don't know her, so I don't want to judge. We've seen Pete quite a lot so it would be easy to say we're Team Pete, but we've never met her.
0/5. The non committal answer. Zzzzz.

5. What's the weirdest thing you've ever been sent by a fan?
I get sent Harribo Strawbs all the time. Starmix is my favourite though, but I don't like Cola bottles.
1/5. Have you got that people?

6. What is the best party you've ever been to?
I'm having a party for my birthday at the end of the month so it's going to be that. But because it hasn't happened yet, the Diesel party at Carnival. Oh my god, I literally had the best time. It was like a house party in a house and I was just in the garden raving. I did break a plant pot though. I kind of fell on it and it broke in half so I just ran away. Why am I telling you this?!
3/5. We're still waiting for our invite...

7. Have you ever used fame to get what you want?
The line 'don't you know who I am?' makes me feel sick. I don't think I'd even be able to say it. If I heard someone say that I'd go 'no I don't, sorry'. It's so embarrassing.
0/5. Go on, try it!

8. How much cash would it take for you to pose in the buff?
Nothing! (laughs) I'll do it now for free. I'd never say never, but not right now.
0/5. Shameless

9. Best freebie you've ever received?
If you want to give me a car, that would be great. I can't drive but I'd still have one though. But we went to the Bahamas once and it was amazing.
4/5. Subtle.

10. Have you ever been chatted up by another celeb?
Yeah, but I'm not going to expose them. I can't tell you but I got a text message the other day about someone fancying me which was quite funny. I'm over that though. I'm not very good on blind dates.
2/5. Spoilsport.

Result: 16/50
Wow, it seems Vanessa really has got her feet on the ground. How very un-showbizzy. She may need to bag herself a famous boyf if she's really going to compete with her bandmates in the showbiz stakes, as it seems she's more acquainted with potted geraniums than hot celeb men.

Boy George demands £1m for Celeb Big Brother

Big Brother has only just finished (not that anyone would have noticed), so naturally it's time to start speculating about who might appear in the next celebrity version of the show - which is only a matter of weeks away.

Celebrity Big Brother returns in January, and the first celeb rumoured to be entering the house is Boy George who has reportedly been offered £750,000 to appear on the ailing reality show.

But apparently that's not quite enough for the 80s popstar, who has demanded more cash.
Bosses are desperate to sign the Karma Chameleon singer, but he's told them he wants £1million to be locked up in the famous house.

"Boy George is a true British eccentric. He would make extremely interesting TV," a show source told Daily Mail.

If bosses did decide to pay out, it would make it the biggest deal in the show's history, beating Jedward's £1m pay packet that was split between them for their appearance in the last series.

George was originally approached to appear in Channel 4's final series of the show in January 2010, but he was blocked after it was revealed he was still on parole from a 15 month prison sentence, which saw him serve four months for imprisoning a male escort.

The popstar was still wearing an electronic tag at the time, and although he pleaded his case, the courts decided against him appearing on the show.

That Harry Styles is certainly a smooth operator.

Just weeks after he snogged the face off The Xtra Factor's Caroline Flack, the One Directioner has been busy trying to woo X Factor contestant Amelia Lily.
The cheeky chappy has finally gone for someone his own age, having swapped numbers with the pink haired singer after they chatted at Thursday's BBC Children In Need Rocks concert.

When questioned about it, Amelia remained tight lipped about the pair's antics, not wanting to face the wrath of One Direction's staunch supporters.

She told The Sun: "No way am I answering that. One Direction fans would break my neck!"

Clearly she knows about the dangers about getting on the wrong side of the band's fans, after Caroline Flack received death threats about her rumoured romance with Harry.

Meanwhile Harry has been opening up about the ladies, admitting he once feared he got a girl pregnant.

"The first time I had sex I was scared I got the girl pregnant - that was despite the fact we were safe," he told OK! Magazine. "Luckily we were fine."

We can only imagine what One Direction fans would have made of that.

Do you think Harry and Amelia make a good couple? Or do you think he and Caroline make a better couple? Leave a comment below.

Bunton and Gardiner facing Dancing on Ice axe?

Filed under:

PA

Reality show revamps are all the rage this year - it's been all change at the X Factor and Britain's Got Talent is currently two judges short of a talent contest.

Now Dancing on Ice is rumoured to be planning a shake-up and judges Emma Bunton and Jason Gardiner are the ones on the chopping block.
According to The Sun, neither has been offered a new contract as yet and the 2012 judging line-up is still to be confirmed.

An insider told the paper, "This year's judging line-up is being taken to the wire. Producers want to refresh things and Jason and Emma look the most vulnerable."

Third judge Robin Cousins is likely to remain due to his, y'know... actual skating expertise, and a source close to former Spice Girl Emma insists she's got "other things in the pipeline anyway".

But if Jason Gardiner is axed, the show will be bereft of ice-skating's answer to Mr Nasty, Simon Cowell.

Mind you, given the furore over his remarks to Karen Barber, it could also mean there are fewer complaints.

The man rumoured to be in talks to fill Jason's shoes is camp-as-Christmas Pineapple Studios star Louie Spence.

The ice-dancing reality show has already lost host Holly Willoughby, though ousted Daybreak presenter Christine Bleakley has stepped in as her replacement.

What do you think - will the show miss Emma and Jason? Leave your comments below...

X Factor: Kelly abandons acts (again) for Paris video shoot

Last time she went AWOL two of Kelly Rowland's X Factor acts ended up in the bottom two.

But the American judge obviously hasn't learned from her mistakes because, according to The Mirror, she's abandoned them for a second time and jetted off to gay Paris.

The 30-year-old is in France to film the video for her latest solo song, leaving Janet Devlin, Misha B and Amelia Lily alone to cope with their quarter final preparations.

A gossip told the tabloid, "Obviously she's gutted she can't spend more time with her artists but it couldn't be helped.

"But it's fair to say the girls - Janet and Amelia Lily in particular - are less than impressed... To them, it feels as though Kelly is prioritising her solo career over theirs."

Perish the thought.
Still, Kelly has promised to be on the phone to her girls whenever they need her and will be back for the last-minute dress rehearsal.

Let's just hope she doesn't fall victim to another mysteriously serious throat infection.

What do you think - is Kelly's heart really in the X Factor? Leave a comment below...

Kim and Kris: The gloves are off

Oh dear. Up until now the rather hasty divorce between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries has been a relatively civilised affair - but now it looks like things are turning nasty.

Firstly American gossip rag Us Weekly has done a hatchet job on NBA star Kris, with a mystery "source" (who we're sure couldn't have a name beginning with K) spilling the beans about how he was supposedly mean to Kimmy and said she had a big bum.
And it has also been claimed by Life&Style magazine that Kris is to sue Kim for around £7m after his role in Kardashian spin-off show Kourtney & Kim Take New York was allegedly expanded.

He is also said to be concerned about the way he will be depicted in the show's edit, bearing in mind the collapse of his marriage to Kim.

Us Weekly's source claims that Kris said that Kim had a "fat ass" and repeatedly insulted her.

The source said: "He belittled her in front of people. He'd call her stupid. It was truly sickening.

"He tried to control Kim by bringing her down... He would say truly terrible things. One time, he said she had no talent and her fame wouldn't last."

And meanwhile RadarOnline has claimed that Kim's mother Kris Jenner has got her "on lockdown" in the wake of the negative public reaction to the divorce news.

A source was quoted as saying: "They did not anticipate the extreme backlash and the damage it would cause to the K-brand as a whole.

"The whole empire has been affected by this dumb marriage and Kris Jenner is all about getting paid."

Who do you believe? Are you on Team Kris or Team Kim? Comment below...

Fascination

It's day three of our How Showbiz? special with The Saturdays, so it's time to see how mamma-to-be Una Healy scored on the scale of celebrity.
1. Who is the most famous person in your mobile?
I've got royalty - Zara Phillips. It's cool to think I have the Queen's granddaughter's number! She's my friend now, I didn't really know her before the wedding, but we've kept in touch since and we chat now and again. I met her through my boyfriend because her husband plays rugby with Ben (Foden, her boyfriend).
10/5. Royalty. In her phone.

2. What it the most bizarre thing you've ever read about yourself?
The most recent think that was bizarre and completely untrue is that we were going to take a break. We had to quickly clear it up and put on Twitter that we weren't. The poor fans were reading it and believing it and it started to escalate more and more. And then I got pregnant and they were all like 'it's definitely true'.
1/5. Not exactly shocking.

3. How much is too much for a haircut?
We have it done for us. I reckon Nicky (our hairdresser) would probably be the most expensive going. We all have a snip here and there. He's a celebrity hairdresser in his own right now. He does us and The Wanted.
3/5. We bet he does.

4. Katie Price - friend or foe?
I like her because she sent me her sunglasses. I wore them once and she tweeted me and asked if I wanted any more. I actually had a dream about her last night, which was weird. I don't know why? I don't remember what happened but I was chatting to her like I knew her, so she's my friend. I'd like to get to know her. I love Pete and they've got gorgeous children out of that relationship.
3/5. Pricey's friendship can be yours if you're willing to wear some of her tat.

5. What's the weirdest thing you've ever been sent by a fan?
I get loads of tea and teabags. Twinnings sent me a gift pack of all the different types of tea they have because they all know I love my tea.
1/5. Rock and roll!

6. What is the best party you've ever been to?
My 30th birthday the other week. It wasn't showbiz at all. It was all my old friends and family. There wasn't one celebrity in sight and I loved that it was so un-showbiz because you still need to stick to your roots.
0/5. Don't be fooled by the rocks that she got...

7. Have you ever used your fame to get what you want?
If you ever need to, you're very un-showbiz. If someone doesn't know who you are and you have to say 'don't you know who I am?', then you're obviously not very famous.
5/5. 'Xactly.

8. How much cash would it take for you to pose in the buff?
If it was millions, maybe. Never say never and if it was done tastefully. I'd do it for a charity campaign. I saw on this website once where I saw all of us naked. It was photoshopped but it was so funny! We all had massive boobs. I showed it to my mother actually and she was like 'what you been getting up to at work?'.
5/5. Get your cheque books ready, Nuts and Zoo.

9. Best freebie you've ever received?
A holiday. We went to the Bahamas. It was gorgeous. I'd love a car though.
5/5. Subtle AND shameless.

10. Have you ever been chatted up by another celeb?
Back in the day, I went on a date with an ex celebrity who was on Celebrity Big Brother, which is when you're even more on the way out. He discussed the date I had with him, which was stupid because I was watching. He made it all up because the date didn't go well and I just didn't like him and so he said I ordered the most expensive thing on the menu. Well I didn't, and I called up the restaurant afterwards because he said the steak was £56 and I asked what their most expensive steak was and it was £25. It was Ben Adams from A1 in case you were wondering.
5/5. Finally! The first celeb in HSAY? history to name names!*Googles Ben Adams*

Result: 38/50
Hob-nobbing with royalty, celebrity dates, free Caribbean holidays, a famous boyfriend... could Una possibly be any more showbiz? No wonder she's gone and bagged herself the highest How Showbiz Are You? score EVER. Bravo Una!

Michael Le Vell in 'cruel' arrest scene

Michael Le Vell, The Coronation Street actor who has been accused of child rape, will have to film a scene in the soap where he is arrested by cops.

And fellow cast members have reportedly complained that the scene is cruel on Le Vell, who plays Kevin Webster in the ITV1 show.
The 46-year-old has strenuously denied the allegations against him and the Corrie cast have rallied around him.

The scenes in question would see his character arrested as a suspect in the murder of serial rapist Frank Foster, who had targeted his wife Sally Webster.

A source told The Mirror: "The cast think that making Michael do these scenes is particularly cruel.

"It seems inconceivable these storylines can't be rewritten considering the situation he is in. We're being told the murder storyline must continue - it has too many knock-on effects to change now."

Le Vell is currently on bail waiting to hear if he will be charged with the alleged rape.
