She started her
X Factor 'journey' as
one of the favourites to win but after somehow failing to fulfil that early promise,
Janet Devlin could now be facing the boot.
The Irish teenager
fluffed her lines for the second time on Saturday's show, forgetting the lyrics to her Guilty Pleasure song, MMMBop by Hanson.
Rooted to the spot throughout the performance, the 17-year-old struggled to remember the words but later blamed her forgetfulness on a bout of nausea, possibly caused by "something she ate".
Tulisa called the performance "mediocre",
Louis Walsh said "it's all about the voice" (again) and
Gary declared it "a real mess".
Things didn't get much better when Janet stepped up to sing the Red Hot Chilli Peppers' Under The Bridge for the Musical Heroes round, where no amount of dry ice could give it that much-needed edge.
Gary suggested Devlin hadn't had the best of nights but, in a desperate bid to find something positive to say, praised the teenager for ignoring his advice and "being her own person".
It turned out to be a good night for the other contestants though.
Little Mix put what Louis called a "lacklustre" performance of Justin Bieber's
Baby (with a little Supremes thrown in) behind them to get the waterworks started with Christina Aguilera's
Beautiful.

Misha B got a little of her old flare back with Cyndi Lauper's
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun before impressing with a Fugees' style rendition of
Killing Me Softly.
Gary pointed out that it was good to see Misha "not trying to win votes" and the audience seemed to agree, chanting her name for the first time this series.
Next up was Marcus. After his customary spotlight-stealing moment singing Wham! hit
I'm Your Man (giving the audience a glimpse of his abs), Marcus sang a ballad for the first time.
Though his performance of Stevie Wonder's
Lately was a little shaky to start with, but by the end there was little doubt as to why he's one of the favourites to win the show.
Why Tulisa felt the need to bring up his past struggles was more of a mystery.
Insisting that Marcus himself would never "ask for the sympathy vote", Tulisa apparently felt she should, letting the audience know that he'd had "a tough life" and fully deserved to be on the stage... as if talent wasn't enough.
Finally
Amelia Lily chose T'Pau's
China in your Hand as her guilty pleasure and inadvertently sparked Twitter outrage from original singer Carole Decker, who took great offence at Gary's remark that it was "nice to hear it sung in tune for once". Ouch.
Amelia's second song, Kelly Clarkson's
Since U Been Gone was described as "effortless" by Louis Walsh, though Tulisa claimed it was "a bit shouty at times".
Despite praise from the judges, however, we've got a sneaking suspicion Amelia might be heading for a sing-off with rival Janet.
