David Hasselhoff has finally confirmed he will not be returning to the Britain's Got Talent judging panel.Months of speculation began back in August when The Hoff was rumoured to have been axed from the show but, until now, there has been no official word from the man himself.
This week, however, the Baywatch star tweeted, "So it's official, I'm not coming back to Britain's Got Talent. So if you want to see me live come check me out in Bristol as Hoff the Hook in Peter Pan XXX."
He tactfully added, "Thanks to everyone who supported me on my Britain's Got Talent days. Nothing but fond memories of the cast and crew and thanks to Simon Cowell."
Well, you never know when you might need to call on Mr Nasty and his armoury of TV reality shows.
With Michael McIntyre also off the panel, there has been endless speculation as to who will be sitting alongside Amanda Holden next year.
David Walliams, Katherine Jenkins, Paul O'Grady, Dannii Minogue and Samantha Womack have all been touted as possible replacements... but it seems Simon Cowell's got his own idea.
He'd like to bring himself back.
According to today's Mirror, the TV mogul is worried about falling British ratings (with good reason, as it happens) and plans to return, possibly with Barbara Windsor in tow (random).
An ITV insider told the paper, "Simon wants to make it the biggest, most successful series yet. His presence will be a guaranteed ratings winner as he is so popular with viewers."
A spoilsport spokesman refused to confirm the news, saying, "There's been a lot of speculation. We will announce the line up soon."
