The drunken work leaving do is one of Britain's greatest traditions, but what do you do if your final shift ends at breakfast time?

Well, for Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley there was a simple answer after their last appearance on ITV1's Daybreak this week - start knocking them back with your eggs and bacon!
The duo are reported to have headed straight off to the pub opposite the ITV studios after they knocked off work for the last time on Monday, and they were joined by reporters Kate Garraway and Dan Lobb along with production staff.

But like many leaving bashes the mood was apparently far from merry.

Chiles, 44, is reported to have been heard saying: "This is not a day for celebrating. We're just having a few drinks."

And a source was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: "It was more like a wake than a party. They're both really cut up about what happened."

Chiles is claimed to have knocked back five pints of Guinness while C-Bleakley was apparently getting festive on the mulled wine.

And they are claimed to have split the hefty £551 bar bill before being whisked away for lunch in a chauffeur-driven limo.

What do you reckon they should do next? Stay together or split up? Comments below...

Dawn French is wasting away before our very eyes

They say that you can have too much of a good thing, but that's not likely to be a problem with comedienne Dawn French anytime soon.

The 54-year-old revealed last month that she had dropped from 21st to 16st - and now it looks as though she's still shrinking!

She was snapped on a night out in London yesterday looking even more svelte than when she first unveiled her new slimline figure - and if we didn't know her better we'd suspect there might be a workout DVD in the pipeline.
Dawn started shedding the pounds when her marriage to husband of 25 years Lenny Henry ended last year, and he must also have been swerving the cakes since because he's lost an impressive 3st in weight himself.

What do you reckon? Do you like Dawn better now there's less of her? Comment below...

Barrymore admits cocaine possession

Troubled entertainer Michael Barrymore has admitted possession of cocaine after being arrested in the street in London last month.

The 59-year-old was appearing at Ealing Magistrates Court under his real name, Michael Parker, and was fined a total of £780.
Another charge of being drunk and disorderly had been dropped by the CPS.

He was found by officers in the street after his Citroen car hit a kerb in Acton early in the morning on November 22.

The court heard that he swore at the arresting officers, saying: "Don't you think I've had enough... from you lot over the years? I know the law."

He was apparently seen trying to hide something in his mouth and a white rock of what turned out to be cocaine was discovered in his pocket.

His lawyer Richard Gowthorpe said: "In many ways it's a sad day for Mr Parker to be before the courts and he's pleaded guilty to this offence," said Mr Gowthorpe.

"Certainly he will be punished to a degree by the conviction itself. This behaviour is wholly out of character. This is not part of a general lifestyle that Mr Parker is living."

And a drug worker testified that the former star was undergoing cognitive behaviour therapy, which he was finding beneficial.

He was also claimed to be getting treatment for alcoholism.

Comments turned off for legal and moral reasons.

Yep, ousted X Factor contestant Frankie Cocozza has reportedly landed on his feet and been signed up to join the Celebrity Big Brother house.

According to The Sun, Frankie won BB bosses over by vowing to "sh** someone" whilst inside the house.

No doubt Cocozza is keen to add a famous name to that tattooed backside... he's probably already planning a charm offensive on possible housemate Lindsay Lohan.

X Factor finalists 'to duet with mentors'?

ITV

If the X Factor judges weren't already feeling the pressure ahead of this weekend's final, they most certainly are now.

According to The Mirror, Gary, Tulisa and Kelly will be joining their acts for an all-important finals duet.
The paper claims the plan was thought up by bosses after Louis' final act, Kitty Brucknell, was voted out.

Kelly and Amelia Lily are reportedly set to sing River Deep, Mountain High, Tulisa and Little Mix are mulling over an Alicia Keys mash-up, and Gary and Marcus Collins are as yet undecided on which Take That hit they will be wowing us with.

An insider told The Mirror, "It's going to be more pressure than ever. The acts will be singing in front of 10,000 people [at Wembley Arena] - and with their mentors.

"The judges will be nervous as well because the song could be the difference between winning and losing."

It's all rumour at the moment, of course - there has been no official news from the X Factor people - but we imagine Louis Walsh is looking forward to critiquing his fellow judges as well as the finalists.

Will Gary have the "likeability factor"? Is Tulisa the "perfect popstar"? We'll just have to wait and find out.

What do you think - would you like to see the mentors duetting with their acts? Leave your comments below...
