Celebrity Dad of the Year Peter Andre has blasted ex-wife Katie Price (again) for saying that children with divorced parents are "lucky".As is Katie's usual speak-before-thinking style, she announced on This Morning last week that "any child that has parents who are divorced are lucky. They get extra Christmas presents, birthday presents and extra trips."
But as father of "lucky" Junior and Princess, Pete took a different view of the matter.
In his New! magazine column, the Aussie wrote: "She said that as long as it happens before the kids are a certain age, it doesn't affect them."I really don't agree with this. I think that divorce absolutely affects kids, no matter what age they are and that if it can be avoided, it should be."
He did concede though that for some "divorce is the only option" but the children involved "certainly shouldn't be classed as 'lucky'".
Pete added: "No amount of possessions make up for the fact that you don't have both parents around you all the time."
Yeah... there's probably not too many people who would disagree with you there, Pete.
Mind you, judging by the massive collection of birthday presents he gave Junior and Princess on his reality show recently, there are probably very few material possessions they haven't already got.
