Even though Cheryl Cole has finally come to her senses and left Ashley Cole, we didn't expect the Will.I.Am situation to heat up quite as quickly as it is.But now that he's met Cheryl's mum, we can only assume that there is actually something going on.
Mum Joan spent most of Cheryl's marriage to Ashley looking like she'd been sucking on a lemon but apparently she's quite taken with the Black Eyed Pea.Cheryl is currently supporting the band on tour and took the brave step of introducing her mum to the rapper on Wednesday night.
And get this... Joan actually cracked a smile.
Still, we can understand why - Will.I.Am clearly knows how to win over the parents.
He told The Sun: "Joan is a great lady. You can see why Cheryl is such a good girl, she gets it from her mum. Cheryl's mum is behind our friendship."
Nice move.
But he didn't stop there - cranking up the charm factor, he went on: "The most important thing for Cheryl at the moment is to have a man around her who she can trust and who makes her laugh. I promised mum that's what I'm doing."
Crikey, he's already calling her "mum" - well done, Will... it seems you're well and truly inside the circle of trust.
