There are no doubt thousands of people in the UK who would rather keep their middle names under wraps. But a Northumberland dad may not be the most popular man in the world when his daughter grows up to realise hers is Lady Gaga.It all started off as a joke between Ian Clark and his four-year-old stepdaughter Maddy who, as four-year-olds do, was keen for her little sister to be named after her pop idol.
But after nine months, Ian's brain was clearly a bit addled because he went ahead with the plan, naming his new baby Meggie Maisie Lady Gaga (honestly, it's true).Partner Melanie Robinson was shocked by his determination but could do little to stop him as they registered the birth.
"I can't believe he actually went ahead and did it. Ian thought it was a really good idea but I told him no way," she told the Northeast Evening Chronicle. "The registrar asked three times if there was anything he wanted to change about the name but he didn't back down."
Yes, Ian's stubbornness got the better of him and Melanie admitted that "the more someone tells Ian he shouldn't do it, the more he wants to".
Still, little Gaga is getting plenty of visitors as a result - apparently everyone keeps asking to see the birth certificate.
And it'll give her something to aim at in life - massive heels, a huge variety of wigs and the ability to simulate a gruesome death whilst singing.
Let's just hope she doesn't turn out to be a real Little Monster.
