Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell has reportedly split from his wife of 25 years.

The 46-year-old soap actor, who is currently battling child sex abuse allegations, is claimed to have separated from Janette Beverley prior to his recent arrest.

A source last night told The Sun: "It's very sad, but they are estranged and have been for a while. This police investigation comes on top of everything else.

"It's been the worst time of Michael's life."

The paper reports that Le Vell parted company with childhood sweetheart Janette just months before the sex allegations surfaced.

A renowned family man, Michael is said to be in "complete shock" over the marriage breakdown.
The insider added: "Michael has always been brilliant as a husband and dad and has never courted the celebrity lifestyle.

"The fact that his marriage is on the rocks has come as a complete shock."

So far, there has been no official comment from Le Vell.

TV actor Larry Hagman has revealed he is battling cancer.

The 80-year-old, famed for his role as Dallas baddie JR Ewing, released a statement yesterday, saying: "As J.R. I could get away with anything - bribery, blackmail and adultery.

"But I got caught by cancer."
Though he declined to name the type of cancer, Hagman went on: "I do want everyone to know that it is a very common and treatable form of cancer.

"I will be receiving treatment while working on the new Dallas series. I could not think of a better place to be than working on a show I love, with people I love.

He added: "Besides, as we all know, you can't keep JR down!"

It is not the first time Larry has faced serious health problems. In 1995, the Dallas star was given a liver transplant after battling alcohol addiction.

He is currently starring in the revamped version of the popular US soap, alongside fellow original cast members Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray.

We wish him well.

The new Dallas is reportedly set to air on Channel 5 - will you be watching? Leave a comment below...

ITV

The X Factor wannabes are only one week into the live shows but success has already gone to some of their rapidly-swelling heads.

Misha Bryan, who impressed on last Saturday's show, has reportedly been threatened with the boot after turning diva.

According to The Sun, the rapping hopeful has been less than complimentary about the show's staff and told her competition: "I've already won."

Time for mentor Kelly Rowland to step in.

An insider told the tabloid: "Misha is out of control and Kelly just snapped. She told her that unless she packs it in, she'll be sent packing herself."
Tough-talking Kelly is rumoured to have taken the "shell-shocked" singer down a peg or two and forced her to apologise to X Factor employees (including vocal coach Anne-Marie Speed), who are said to have labelled Misha the "diva from hell".

And we thought Kitty was going to be this year's trouble-maker!

What do you think - is Misha your favourite to win? Comments below please...

Corrie legend Betty Driver dies aged 91

Coronation Street legend Betty Driver has died at the age of 91.

The veteran actress "died peacefully in hospital" early this morning, according to an ITV spokesman.

Driver, who starred in the ITV soap for an astonishing 42 years, had been ill for some time and in hospital for six weeks.
Betty's showbusiness career began when she was just a child.

She was already treading the boards by the age of 10 and went on to a successful career as a singer, recording and performing with some of the country's top dance bands, and entertaining the troops during World War II.

But it was as the much-loved Betty Williams, barmaid at the Rovers Return, that many will remember her.

Driver's co-stars were quick to pay tribute.

William Roache, otherwise known as Ken Barlow, said: "I loved Betty dearly she was not only a colleague, she was a friend and godmother to my son James.

"She will be missed in the Street but she will be missed more so as a warm and loving person."

Betty's long-time friend Barbara Knox, who plays Rita Sullivan in the soap, said: "I have lost a very dear friend and the Street has lost a very great character, a professional to her fingertips - she will be greatly missed."

And her fellow Rovers barmaid Julie Goodyear, added: "We laughed together, we cried together and never once had a cross word. She was a totally professional actress. A true icon and legend and a very dear friend."
